Mark Schatz won the IBMA Bass Player of the Year Award in 1994 & 1995. He is also nominated this year of 2019. Mark's recording credits include projects with Bela Fleck, Tony Rice, Jerry Douglas, Tim O'Brien, Nickel Creek, The Clair Lynch Band. He writes compositions and plays clawhammer banjo as well as dances.


In 1991, Mark won The Bluegrass Album of the Year Award for The Bluegrass Album Band Vol V. In 1992 he won Instrumental Recording of The Year for Jerry Douglas' Slide Rule.


He has also worked with John Hartford, Sam Bush,

Emmylou Harris, Linda Ronstadt, Dan Fogelberg, Doc Watson,

Sara Jarosz, Noam Pikelny and Della Mae. He works Footworks as dancer, musician, Musical Director and Road Manager.


Mark has tremendous teaching experience including two Bass videos for Homespun Tapes and Videos. He has taught Bass and Banjo at numerous Arts Festivals and Bluegrass Academy's. He has also Produced and Engineered numerous projects.
